About

My name is Carly Fridhandler — I’m an AI artist and Creative Director based in Montreal, Canada. I’ve spent over 17 years in advertising, working at Sid Lee, Newad, and now at BAM Strategy, where I’ve led creative for global brands like Adidas, Nivea, Walmart, Olay, Cirque du Soleil, and Lululemon.

In 2022, I began creating AI art as a personal experiment that quickly evolved into something much larger. Under the name Scorpion Sorbet (@scorpionsorbet), I explore the tension between comfort and discomfort, a theme from my earliest piece: a scorpion sitting on a bowl of sorbet.

What started as curiosity has grown into an international practice. My work has been featured in Forbes, Marie Claire, Schön, I-D, D la Repubblica, GLITCH, Red Eye, and more. I’ve exhibited in Shanghai, Zurich, Milan, Tokyo, London, Los Angeles, and Paris, collaborated with the visionary agency Fred & Farid, and spoken multiple times at YouTube HQ about the intersection of AI and creativity.

Today, I balance two worlds, by day, I’m a creative director for major brands in Montreal; by night, I transform discomfort into beauty. My art is a way of examining the spaces between what feels safe and unsafe — a reflection of how we evolve when we let both coexist.
